Baby running nose

Having a baby with running or stuffy nose can be considered as the most common problem encountered with the infants. All children without exclusion, one day or the other, will be having this problem during their early years. Even if it sounds as a small issue to worry about, running nose might become a major problem if not controlled properly. For babies who are dependent on the mother's milk, having a runny nose can become distressing as it will cause difficulties during feeding. On the other hand, school- going children will create and embarrassing situations for both parents and teachers with the running nose. These are the simplest minor problems of having a baby with running nose. In worst cases, the infection may start spreading from the nose and all the way downwards to the lungs causing bronchiolitis. Occasionally the infected child will develop meningitis right after the attack of the common cold. The situation might become an emergency case if the baby will start having high fever with breathing or wheezing problems. In such cases, it is strongly recommended to seek for medical care.
